ATP612 Databridge - Opt-out Generator
The ATP612 is a firmware application, which runs on the MRG Systems Ltd, ATP600 Analogue Multi-Input Databridge. The ATP612 is used to generate Opt-out (Advert Insertion) control packets using a standard, but as yet unused, teletext packet.

This packet can be inserted on to spare lines in the vbi or be used to replace spare packets, repeated headers or fillers in an existing service. The control packet can provide grouping facilities and can include short text messages as well as generating a range of control commands.
The ATP612 is also designed to bridge sub-titles into a magazine-serial service. Bridging inputs A and B are used for the main teletext service and the subtitle source respectively, with the combined service inserted into the video signal in the main path. The sources need not be synchronised to each other. This unit can capture subtitles from any page number and transmit it on a different page number if required. The appropriate control bits are set in the subtitle header and the time from the incoming service is also appended.
