All operating parameters can be set using the front panel, or via the Com1 and Com2 serial lines.
Hardware
The DTP600 is a 1U rack-mounting unit. Most of the circuitry is contained on a single PCB. A second PCB mounted on the front panel provides the interface to the switches LCD display and LED indicators.
A toroidal transformer and power supply are mounted onto the case. The unit contains no fans or disks and dissipates less than 10 watts. No special ventilation measures are therefore necessary. The unit contains 4Mb of battery backed memory storing both teletext pages and operating parameters. Data is retained for up to 72 hours without power and the unit resumes operation as soon as power is restored. A bypass relay operates to connect the video input to video output if power is removed from the unit. A memory expansion module is available as an optional extra allowing page storage to be increased to over 3500 pages.

Teletext Transmission
A broadcast quality video inserter is contained on the main board capable of inserting on lines 6 to 22 of the even field and lines 319 to 335 on the odd field.
Six teletext decoders are included. Four have analogue CUBS inputs, another one is connected to the main SDI input and the sixth decoder has its own SDI input.
