Creedbet

Creedbet are a six shop group based in the West Country run by James & Stuart Creed and Guy Jiggins. James had seen the DailyForm touchscreen system for the first time at the BoS Trade Fair in October 2010, so when he came to the ICE Show in January 2011 he knew what he wanted and had already made his mind up to install it in some of his shops; it was simply a case of how many?

Timescales were tight for the Cheltenham Festival but a single screen was installed in the Gloucester shop just as the festival was about to start. Regulars were quick to use the screen and adopt the new technology. Some of his regulars now routinely supplement their browsing with the screen because there is so much more sports information and the big clear print on the screens makes it easier for customers to see the detail.

Bath and Trowbridge shops followed just before Aintree but this time DailyForm DUO units were installed in each shop. The DUO gives more ‘bang for your bucks’ with two 22” screens driven by a single small form-factor PC. For the same price as a single 26” screen Creedbet have doubled the opportunities their customers have to look at form and read the Breaking News service from PA Sport. With ante post prices supplied to each shop from SuperSoccer the screens are being used as price finders by their customers.

The data below is for the Gloucester shop. This is for week’s four to six inclusive and shows high usage figures in spite of its recent introduction.

James says, “It’s obvious that our customers enjoy using these screens, there is so much to look at, and all in one tidy package.”

Introducing new technology into a shop inevitably meets with resistance until the benefits have been explained. From the outset, James made sure his counter staff knew how to use the system and could confidently show customers how to navigate to the correct page quickly. Once learned, and because the system is so intuitive, his customers have become very proficient. Interestingly, usage has increased as customers show their friends what they have discovered on the screens.
